Rösler keeps growing and investing
Expansion of the manufacturing facilities at Rösler USA and the Rösler headquarters in Untermerzbach, Germany
This October Rösler Metal Finishing USA celebrated the completion of its manufacturing facilities expansion project and the consolidation of all North-American Rösler locations into the new building at the headquarters in Battle Creek, Michigan. The new facility allows Rösler USA to provide better overall service to its numerous North-American customers. This milestone event was attended by more than 300 guests, among them representatives of the City of Battle Creek, members of the Battle Creek Unlimited Development Company, Rösler distributors from around the world as well business partners and friends of the company. The 11,000 m2 building expansion had become necessary to handle the company’s increased North-American manufacturing volume including operations such as laser cutting, steel fabrication, CNC operation and equipment assembly. The new building will also house administrative offices. Overall, this expansion at the Rösler Battle Creek facility represents an investment of 7 million $.
As Stephan Rösler, the owner and general manager of the Rösler group, emphasized in his remarks at the Grand Opening: "Rösler USA is an extremely important part of our global operations. The expansion of our Battle Creek facility is proof of the significance of the North-American market for our company. I am very pleased to celebrate the dedication of the new Battle Creek campus with our employees and business partners from North-America and around the world.“ The family owned business with currently more than 1,300 employees started its US operations in 1999.
A new expansion program is also underway in Untermerzbach, the company’s headquarters in Germany: Recently, the “ground breaking” for two new building extensions and additional parking space for 240 cars took place. This latest expansion project represents an additional investment of 3 million € into the Rösler manufacturing location in Germany. Within the past 4 years the company completed 4 building extensions for the integration of the in-house steel fabrication operation, expansion of the overall production volume and warehouse space and added additional floors to the administrative building. The most recent investment had become necessary to overcome capacity bottlenecks due to increased market demand for the company’s products and to further expand the in-house manufacturing depth. When the new 3,500 m² facility will be completed in summer 2012, it will house the complete laser cutting operation with additional laser units and various material stocks. Within the past 5 months the company added 60 new employees to its existing staff to cope with the increasing sales volume. As practiced in the past, in the foreseeable future Rösler will continue its tradition of expanding and modernizing its two German administrative and manufacturing locations.
