Applications of the ISF® Process

ISF stands for Isotropic Superfinishing. This ISF process creates smoothed part´s surfaces down to Ra = 0.02 µm, Rz = 0.14 µm. This causes the reduction of running noise and energy consumption, the extension of service intervals and overall component life and allowing the use of lighter materials. The ISF process has proven applications in many industry sectors including turned and milled precision components, medical implants, surgical instruments, aerospace and power generation turbine components, bearings, race engine components or aerospace and automotive gearbox components.
