RÖSLER-Waterjet-Machines blast with clean pure water and attain a pressure up to 60000 psi. This water is projected onto the component to be treated, via one or more nozzles fixed on a rotating nozzle holder.
The rotation of the nozzle(s) generates a milling or grinding effect on the parts. This is a "soft" method to treat parts from which tenacious, very hard coatings have to be removed.
Blasting with water has many advantages:
- No peening effect > no deformations at the part
- Absolutely media-free water > insignificant
abrasion at the part - Environment-friendly > The process water can be
re-used in the closed circuit - No abrasive deposits > no subsequent cleaning of
the parts necessary - No abrasive wear
- Anticorrosives may be utilised
This procedure is employed for multiple applications in many industrial sectors:
- Removal of thermic coatings (e.g. plasma coatings)
- Cleaning of welding lines from residual slag
- Cleaning of cast parts from sand and ceramic
residuals - De-lacquering of a variety of different work pieces
The nozzles are directed by industrial robots or CNC-systems. Thus, a homogeneous blasting result can be achieved.
The lining of the cabinet is made of densely welded quality stainless steel.
For ecological reasons, the process water is usually re-employed by re-circulation. The impurities are removed in a multi-stage process and the water is disinfected of bacteria.
Good water quality guaranteed by our system ensures very long pump life.
All relevant machine parameters can be supervised, monitored, recorded and adjusted by a central computer.
Wet Process
Glass bead blasting by wet process
The wet blasting process is used for surface improvement, cleaning, stripping, precoating preparation, deburring, shot peening, and contaminant removal.
The surfaces treated by the wet process come close to perfection as far as physical/chemical cleanliness is concerned. This process is particularly suited to the treatment of delicate, precision machined parts.
The main advantages are:
- No dust
- Ability to use very fine abrasives.
- Reduced fragmentation due to the water film
(ideal for shot peening using glass beads). - Reduced risk of inclusions (especially on soft metal)
as water has a cleaning effect.
