Air Blasting

Air Blasting Tip 7 - Surface Consistency And Repeatability

, roslerusa - Torna alla panoramica

Depending on the  air blast process desired, (i.e. a cleaning operation only or surface preparation prior to bonding) it is desirable to maintain and repeat the surface finish time after time.

When cleaning is the aim of the process; broken, split, undersized blast media and contaminants require to be continuously removed from the system to maintain the surface consistency.

Alternatively, if surface preparation is to be maintained a specified surface profile, undersized media requires to be withdrawn and topped up with new blast media.

In order to maintain this consistency and repeatability consider topping up with new media “little and often”.  This will maintain the spread and ratio of media particle sizes in the “working mix” within the blast cabinet.
