Non-ferrous workpieces: Special challenges for shot blasting and dust collection technology
The shot blasting of non-ferrous metals comes with a specific set of challenges. This includes the selection of suitable blasting media, including the appropriate grain size for these material groups, which are significantly softer than conventional steels.
Due to the increased risk of fire and explosion, particular attention must also be paid to the correct dust collection and filtration technology when blasting non-ferrous metals. These aspects will be covered in the second part of the seminar. In addition, we will look at the current legal requirements relating to emissions generated during non-ferrous metal blasting.
Seminar/training content:
- General challenges in shot blasting of non-ferrous workpieces
- Selection of the ideal blasting media
- Overview of filter types
- Dust and its key characteristics
- Current legal situation: Relevant standards and regulations
- Fundamentals of fire and explosion protection in filter systems
Target groups:
Technical personnel with varying levels of qualification from production, work preparation, quality assurance, engineering and process planning. The seminar is suitable for both new customers and users with practical shot blasting experience.
