DRY ELECTROPOLISHING Precise surface finishing of metal components with the DryLyte technology Industry Series Dry electropolishing - DryLyte The dry electropolishing method, developed by the Spanish tech company GPAINNOVA, is an innovative technology for finishing the surface of metal components. It refines the surface considerably better than manual grinding and polishing operations - just in one single step! Compared to other processes, such as liquid electropolishing, it has numerous advantages. For example, work pieces treated with the dry electropolishing method have a highly homogeneous surface without any micro scratches or indentations. DryLyte allows extremely tight dimensional tolerances and generates mirror finishes. In addition, the process is much less detrimental to the environment than liquid electropolishing. Moreover, operating the machines and handling the consumables is very easy. The DryLyte technology is utilized in the GPAINNOVA DLyte equipment that is exclusively sold in Germany by Rösler. The machines can be fully automated and easily integrated into complex manufacturing lines. DryLyte technology DryLyte is a patented technology for surface grinding, polishing, deburring and edge radiusing of metal components. The dry electropolishing method does not remove material from the work pieces through mechanical abrasion but through an ion exchange between the metal components and an electrolyte embedded in polymer granules. The surface of the work pieces has a positive electrical charge, whereas the electrolyte is negatively charged. The electrical flow in the processing bowl and the motion of the work pieces against the electrolyte granules causes a gentle and highly controlled removal of material from the work pieces. The material removal is limited to the roughness peaks of the work piece surface. The DryLyte system does not cause unwanted rounding of edges and, because the polymer granules are extremely small, they reach tight surface areas, which cannot be accessed by mechanical grinding. Dry electropolishing achieves the same smoothing effects as liquid electropolishing but removes considerably less material. Comparison liquid electropolishing vs. dry electropolishing Compared to conventional electropolishing the DryLyte technology utilizes a selective finishing approach. This results in fast removal of roughness peaks and increases the relative material ratio (Rmr). Van middelgroot bedrijf tot wereldspeler – expansie over de aardbol In de jaren 2000 breidt Rösler Oberflächentechnik GmbH haar werkterrein systematisch uit door overnames en de uitbreiding van strategisch belangrijke locaties zoals Frankrijk en de Verenigde Staten. Ook in Duitsland wordt in de daaropvolgende jaren massaal geïnvesteerd. Op de locatie Bad Staffelstein worden onder andere nieuwe productie- en kantoorfaciliteiten gebouwd. Wissel aan de top van het bedrijf en intrede in de straaltechnologie Vanaf 1995 staat Stephan Rösler aan de top van de onderneming – daarmee neemt de derde generatie de verantwoordelijkheid voor de onderneming over. Korte tijd later zet Rösler een gigantische koersverandering in die de structuur van het bedrijf in de komende jaren fundamenteel zal wijzigen: in 1998 betreedt Rösler het terrein van de straaltechniek, onder andere met de aankoop van Hunziker Industriestahltechnik. Het succesverhaal van Rösler raakt in een stroomversnelling In 1958 koopt de familie Rösler het land en de gebouwen van een voormalige porseleinfabriek in Bad Staffelstein. De tweede Rösler-generatie, met Roland Rösler aan de top, legt de volgende jaren de focus steeds meer op de glijslijptechniek. De productietak slijpmiddelen wordt opgebouwd en in 1974 begint het bedrijf met de ontwikkeling van compounds en glijslijpinstallaties. Deze laatste worden vanaf 1980 bij de nieuwe vestiging in Untermerzbach geproduceerd. Ontstaan en wederopbouw van het bedrijf Ons oprichtingsverhaal gaat terug tot het jaar 1933, toen de 'vader' van ons bedrijf, Richard Stephan Rösler, de eerste steen legde voor een porseleinbedrijf in Desná, het vroegere Dessendorf in het voormalige Sudetenland.
