Introduction to shot blasting
Shot blasting systems offer you nearly unlimited options from deflashing, descaling, sand and rust removal to roughening, decoating, matting, smoothing, edge rounding and shot peening. It is a technology which directs blast media onto a parts surface at a speed of up to 180 m/sec. The media is accelerated either by turbines (airless), compressed air, or electric pumps (water jet cleaning). The blast results depend on the type of blast machine, processing parameters and selected blast media.
