Grinding Technology â How Outsourcing Can Reduce Effort and Costs, Especially in Times Like Thes

The family-owned company EVVA is a renowned and high-quality manufacturer of mechanical and electronic access systems. As one of the leading security technology manufacturers in Europe, and driven by the vision to be the best manufacturer, all components must operate smoothly and effortlessly over many years. In addition to the high quality of their products, visual appeal and tactile feel also play an important role. For this, EVVA relies on a long-standing and intensively cultivated partnership with Rösler OberflĂ€chentechnik. This symbiosis has been built up over many years and continuously strengthened. A key part of this partnership is the use of various Rösler systems, which are employed at EVVAâs facility for high-quality surface finishing processes.
Technologies such as shot blasting, mass finishing, including the associated water treatment, and even the drying of components are performed using Rösler machines. Nothing is left to chance here â the company places full trust in the "excellent service of Rösler," as Rudolf Reidl, Head of Surface Technology at EVVA, states.
While the manufacturing of locking cylinder parts and keys takes place in-house, other components are processed in cooperation with the Rösler SFC Surface Finishing Center â the subcontract manufacturing center for surface technology located in 1230 Vienna. This long-standing partnership has proven worthwhile through innovations from both companies, consistent delivery reliability, and sustained component quality.
A crucial aspect of the functionality of many EVVA parts is, among other things, the smooth operation of their products, which is achieved through innovative mass finishing (vibratory finishing) technology. At Röslerâs subcontract manufacturing facility, various components are smoothed and polished to a shine. The full range of process capabilities is exploited here â from simple deburring using the FKS (centrifugal disc finishing) system to high-gloss polishing with the unique Rösler Keramo-Finish process.
To meet the aesthetic demands and individual customer wishes, Röslerâs shot blasting technology â also known as "sandblasting" â is employed. Whether homogeneous, fine, gentle surfaces or grippier textures â with the different surface treatment systems from Rösler, nearly any surface effect can be achieved. For EVVA, a variety of blasting media and carrier materials are used depending on the component, ranging from glass beads to non-rusting stainless steel abrasives to create specific surface finishes. The fine glass beads are applied in semi-automated compressed-air blasting cabins that operate with the injector principle. Additionally, efficient turbine blasting systems (formerly known as centrifugal wheel systems) are used, which stand out due to their particular cost-effectiveness, automation, and the use of patented Rösler turbines.
Rösler OberflĂ€chentechnik GmbH is a full-service provider and international market leader in the manufacturing of mass finishing and blasting equipment, as well as coating and preservation systems, processing media, and technologies for efficient surface treatment (deburring, descaling, sand removal, polishing, grinding, etc.) of metals and other materials. At the Vienna location â one of 17 worldwide branches â professional subcontract surface finishing services have been offered for over 20 years. A comprehensive machine park enables processing from prototypes to large series production. The full service program meets the highest customer demands found in the automotive, aerospace, and medical technology sectors. End customers benefit from short turnaround times, fixed price calculations, reproducible results, and expert consulting on surface and environmental technology.
The Rösler Group includes, besides its German plants in Untermerzbach/Memmelsdorf and Bad Staffelstein/Hausen, subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Serbia, Switzerland, Spain, Romania, Russia, Brazil, China, and the USA.
