Rösler high energy disc systems efficient alternative to conventional vibratory machines
MASS FINISHING High energy disc systems Up to 15 times higher performance than vibratory equipment Intelligent annular gap technology (Micro Gap) Highest flexibility through individual system configuration Compact and user-friendly system design Optimized work bowl geometry for even more economical use Expandable up to a fully automatic processing line Our high energy disc systems make mass finishing more efficient than ever before. Compared with conventional vibratory finishing, a 10- to 15-fold increase in performance can be achieved with the help of centrifugal force. High energy disc systems are inspiring not only because of their speed but also because of their processing spectrum. Among other things, they are used for deburring, grinding, rounding, or polishing stampings, castings, forgings, and machined work pieces – from thin-walled to solid. High energy disc systems are used in medical technology, jewelry and eyewear manufacturing, as well as in the automotive sector as well as in many other special applications. The operating principle of a high energy disc system is based on the interaction of the fixed, cylindrical work bowl (or tub) in combination with a spinner, which is separated from the tub wall. The spinner accelerates the work pieces and finishing media, and the centrifugal force generated in the process pushes the mixture of media and work pieces against the work bowl wall, where it continues to move upwards until it is finally returned downwards to the spinner by the force gravity and the cycle begins again. Our high energy disc systems feature an optimized work bowl design, an energy-efficient electric drive, and compact system control and process water supply. We have also revolutionized the market with a particularly economical two-batch system and an absolutely reliable and patented annular gap control and regulation system. Our range of performance boosters 1 / 4 Series E This stand-alone system is the basic version of a Rösler high energy disc system, which can be operated as either an autonomous or modular system. It is suitable for part-on-part finishing as well as for batch processing with media. With the use of an additional screening machine, even complex separation tasks can be solved, and the separation of the work pieces from the grinding media can be facilitated. Fact sheet Brochure 2 / 4 Series E/SM und E/SA These models link the processing unit directly to the work piece separator. This makes the system particularly user friendly. The processing media remains within the system after being separated from the work pieces. The combined working-separating unit is tilted back into the working position after the separation step is completed, returning the media to the work bowl – ready for the next batch. Fact sheet Brochure 3 / 4 Series E-A The concept of the E-A high energy disc systems is an automated work flow in a compact design. This system technology can easily be linked with automated work piece loading and drying systems. Even demanding separation tasks can be solved reliably and reproducibly with this system configuration. Fact sheet Brochure 4 / 4 Series A2 Profi-Line high energy disc systems are designed according to the two-batch system developed by Rösler. The two-batch technology automatically offers simultaneous processing and separation in the best quality. Part mixing from batch to batch can be elimintaed. For particularly large quantities of work pieces, the A2 system can be expanded to an A3 system, thereby enabling the simultaneous processing of three work piece batches. Industrial cleaning systems
MASS FINISHING Industrial cleaning systems Over 30 years of experience in manufacturing of cleaning systems System, accessories, and process chemicals from a single source Simple interlinking with mass finishing systems Interlinking with blast machines for pre/post-cleaning possible Fully automatic system operation, including parts handling Combination of multiple wet cleaning stages with drying possible Industrial cleaning systems are used in countless industries – because wherever production takes place, work pieces have to be cleaned of release agents, oils, chips, or abrasion and much more. We offer our customers industrial cleaning equipment for spray cleaning with aqueous solutions. We focus on the two main types of equipment for interlinking with blast or mass finishing applications: continuous cleaning systems and drum cleaning systems. A functional aqueous cleaning system must meet standardized cleanliness specifications. We therefore coordinate all systems and processes in the best possible way. That’s why we use classic continuous cleaning systems for automatic production systems. Or multi-functional, specially designed mass finishing systems that combine processes: cleaning, pickling, neutralizing, smoothing, polishing, and drying in an automated program sequence. We also want to offer our customers as comprehensive a range as possible in the area of industrial cleaning and therefore also manufacture many cleaning solutons ourselves. These are particularly compatible with our mass finishing compounds. After de-oiling, the work pieces can often be fed into the mass finishing system without subsequent drying. This simplifies the process chain and results in considerable savings. Many Rösler cleaners also work effectively at lower wash temperatures. This also helps conserve energy. Tailor made solutions for clean workpieces 1 / 2 Continuous cleaning systems Depending on the cleaning requirements, several wet zones (e.g., de-oiling, cleaning, rinsing, passivation) as well as downstream processes such as blow-off, drying, and subsequent cooling can be combined. The work pieces are transported by different work piece transport devices such as conveyor chains or stainless steel wire mesh belts. The work pieces can be cleaned lying directly on the conveyor belt or on specific work piece carriers. 2 / 2 Drum cleaning system Rösler drum cleaning systems are mainly used for processing work pieces that are treated as bulk goods (e.g., nuts, bolts, stamped parts). This type of system can also combine several cleaning stages (e.g., de-oiling, cleaning, and rinsing) as well as drying. Our portfolio includes equipment with drum diameters from 450 to 900 mm. Dryers are specifically designed to handle parts exiting surface finishing processes!
MASS FINISHING Dryer Up to 40% less energy consumption Stain free drying achieveing high luster surfaces Environmentally friendly, organic drying media High flexibility thanks to batch or continuous operation Standard pre-separation Direct interlinking with mass finishing system Almost all processing methods in vibratory grinding are wet processes. In order to be fed into the next production process, work pieces usually must be dried after mass finishing. We offer our customers sophisticated solutions that allow the drying process to follow the vibratory grinding process smoothly and automatically. Among the requirements placed on the systems are that they can be directly connected to the mass finishing system in terms of control technology and that they can be operated in an energy-efficient manner while maintaining high drying performance. We offer four different types of dryers. These process the finished parts continuously or in batches using a drying media depending on the type of system. They are also tailored to the specific requirements of the various industries. In accordance with our one-stop philosophy, the appropriate drying media is also part of our comprehensive portfolio. Surf-Finisher systems are a innovation from the Rösler mass finishing division!
MASS FINISHING Surf-Finisher Ideal for high-quality, delicate, and complex work pieces Up to 40-fold higher processing intensity than vibratory systems Intelligent process control enables reproducible results Combinable process steps (e.g., pre-grinding, fine grinding, and polishing) Automation and integration into production cells possible Also suitable for large/heavy components With our innovative special systems for single-part processing, we enable the targeted processing of high-quality, demanding work pieces by avoiding contact between the work pieces. Drag finishers, surf finishers, multi-surf finishers, and plunge grinders take mass finishing to a whole new level. These types of systems are used in various configurations in the aerospace, automotive, and medical technology industries as well as in the tooling industry. The basic principle of these types of systems is the same: the work piece or work pieces are attached to a clamping device – either to processing spindles or to a robot – and immersed in the container filled with finishing media. Rotating either the work bowl or the parts on the fixture creates the relative movement between the part and the finishing media. This way, grinding, deburring, polishing, or edge rounding is performed on the part based on the type of finishing media used. Finsihing media especially developed for this intensive processing ensure high-quality and economical processing of the work pieces. Intelligent systems for single part processing 1 / 4 Plunge grinding machines Plunge grinding systems are suitable for heavy and large work pieces with a maximum length of around 800 mm and a maximum weight of up to 800 kilos; these require individual part processing. They are used in particular in the automotive and aerospace industries deburring, grinding, and polishing applications. The working spindle can perform various movements during processing to achieve optimum work piece processing. fact sheet Brochure 2 / 4 Drag Finishers Drag finishers are powerful yet compact systems that can be integrated into any production line and reliably handle complex finishing and polishing operations. At the heart of the systems are two to six working spindles, which hold the parts to be processed and immerse them into the finishing media. Drag finishers are suitable for both wet and dry processing. Depending on the system design, they are equipped with manual work piece clamping or are operated fully automatically with robotics parts handling systems. fact sheet brochure 3 / 4 Surf-Finisher Surf finishing technology is the most intensive type of mass finishing and is particularly suitable for high-quality, complex-shaped work pieces that can be clamped. Compared with conventional vibratory finishing, this technology can increase performance by up to 50-fold. The Rösler Surf-Finisher replaces laborious manual work and is a real alternative to brush or belt sanding or polishing equipment thanks to the highest process stability. fact sheet brochure 4 / 4 Multi-Surf-Finisher The Multi-Surf-Finisher enables the simultaneous processing of several work pieces. Similar to drag finishing systems, parts attached to work piece fixtures are clamped in the system. The difference is that both the working spindles and the work bowl filled with grinding or polishing media rotate during processing. Thus, an even more intensive processing of the work pieces can be ensured. The work pieces can be loaded and clamped manually or automatically via an industrial robot. fact sheet brochure Discover our Surf-Finishers in 360° Mouseover Zoom loading... Rösler compounds are based on organic substances, which are almost completely biodegradable.
CONSUMABLES Compounds Compounds – guarantee a high-quality mass finishing process With few exceptions, all mass finishing processes require the addition of “process water”. This is usually supplied to the mass finishing process in the form of fresh water in combination with solid or liquid compounds. The fluid is used to absorb and remove the material removed from the work pieces and finishing media during processing, to keep the media surface open and active, and thus to ensure that the mass finishing process maintains a consistently high level of quality. The added compounds are selected according to the material to be processed, the area of application, and the desired processing objective. While the predecessors of today’s mass finishing compounds were mostly highly alkaline and heavily enriched with complexing agents, the main ingredients of our current compounds are organic substances that are almost completely degradable and do not contain any substances that are hazardous to water. In addition, almost any mass finishing system and process can be operated with a modern processing water circulation system from Rösler. The high-performance centrifuges specially developed for the mass finishing process and the process fluids involved offer excellent purity of the centrifugate thanks to their high separation efficiency of solids (abrasive particles), which is perfectly suited for recirculation. This increases the potential savings in chemical feed stocks and fresh water use and ensures the sustainability of the overall process. In combination with our newly developed long-life compounds, compound savings of up to 60% are possible in this way. Compounds usually have other specific properties that support the respective mass finishing process. 1 / 3 Liquid Liquid compounds that can be easily and flexibly metered with automatic systems can be used for a wide range of applications – from acid pickling to highly alkaline degreasing and corrosion protection for sensitive materials. 2 / 3 Powder We use powder compounds to enhance certain effects of the liquid compounds. For example, if work pieces with a particularly high level of oil or grease enter the process and need to be degreased/cleaned during the mass finishing process or parts need particularly strong corrosion protection. Additional abrasives can also be incorporated into the powder compounds, which are used in addition to the actual finishing media for grinding support. 3 / 3 Paste For some mass finshing processes, we also use compounds in paste form. Well-known products include grinding and polishing pastes for the Rösler Keramo Finish ® process for smoothing and polishing steel, stainless steel, or many other alloys. In general, various mass finishing results can be achieved with pastes – from rough grinding to creation of high-gloss surfaces. You want only the best for your surface? Dry & Polishing media
CONSUMABLES Polishing and Drying Media Polishing agents, drying agents, and the like – the finishing touches for your perfect process In addition to finishing media, polishing and drying agents are also important processing aids that are essential for carrying out many mass finishing processes at the highest level. They guarantee a stain-free drying process and polish and clean the work pieces after vibratory finishing. In combination with special pastes, they can also be used for scratch-free high gloss polishing. In addition, numerous other auxiliaries and special media round off our process media portfolio. You thus have all the necessary products at your disposal for the perfect surface result and do not have to make compromises when it comes to the quality of your parts. Defoaming agents are used to combat unwanted foam in the processing and process water. Because of the wide variety of fresh water qualities used for the mass finishing process, it may be necessary, especially for certain hardness grades, to control the formation of foam during the actual processing as well as during the cleaning of the process fluid. For this purpose, “defoaming agents” contribute to process stability without leaving residues on the work pieces. Biocides are used to increase system hygiene and process fluid life. Today, the powerful Rösler centrifuges in combination with the optimum compound combinations allow the liquids to be recirculated for periods ranging from several weeks to several months. Contaminants such as oils, greases, or similar buildup from previous processes may necessitate a premature change of the fluid. All circulation compounds from Rösler provide basic protection. However, additional and demand-oriented automatic compound replenishment can considerably extend the service life of the circulation fluid. Rösler Anti-Dust ensures lower dust residues in the dryer, in the surrounding area, and on the work pieces without impairing the drying performance. Adhesion separating balls prevent flat work pieces from sticking to each other during processing, thereby enabling processing on both sides and homogeneously. Stainless steel polishing media such as stainless steel balls, satellites and stainless steel pins are used for ball burinishing and pressure deburring of both ferrous and non-ferrous metal work pieces. Supervelat is a corn cellulose product for stain-free drying and cleaning as well as polishing of all kinds of work pieces. This is also known as corn cob or maizorb. Nutshell granules are a nature product for polishing all types of work pieces. You want only the best for your surface? We will gladly help you! send Inquiry Phone Downloads Consumables EN 130
